JOB TITLE: Nurse in Charge RN
LOCATION: Kapawe’no First Nation Health Centre
Position Status: 1.0 FTE Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Reports to: Kapawe’no First Nation Administration
Position Summary:
The Kapawe’no First Nation is seeking a self-motivated, compassionate RN to provide services to its residents in the area of Health promotion, prevention, education, client advocacy, and service delivery. The RN will apply knowledge, skills, and relevant attributes to competently implement services within the scope of the Kapawe’no First Nations Funding Agreement outcomes. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of First Nations Culture or be willing to adapt and learn the culture and structures specific to Kapawe’no First Nation. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive range of Nursing functions in the program areas of community health, through promotion and maintenance of the health of individuals and families as well as the delivery of Home Care Services
PROFFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, or Nursing Diploma
- Member in good standing and current registration with C.A.R.N.A
- Specialization and certifications related to Community Health Nursing
- Current (CPR) for HCP, Standard First Aid
- Current Innoculist Certificate
- Knowledge and experience with Health Data Collection and Reporting Systems

- Experience working with First Nations populations
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, writing skills
- Excellent supervisory skills
- Excellent decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to changing technology and health factors impacting nation members
- Knowledge of Emergency Management Implementation and Pandemic Planning
